15 - March 2023

An event on "Negative consequences of popular culture" was organized at the Samarkand branch of the Tashkent State University of Economics.
At this event, which took place on March 15 of this year, Kh. Turdibekov - the first deputy director for youth issues and spiritual and educational affairs, G. Kurbanov - ensuring the stability of the social and spiritual environment D.Shodmonov - branch prevention inspector, as well as Y.Isomiddinov, head of youth work, spirituality and enlightenment department of the branch, professors, teachers, tutors and 110 students participated. .
The event was opened by Kh. Turdibekov, the first deputy director for youth issues and spiritual and educational affairs of the Samarkand branch of the Tashkent State University of Economics, and introduced the participants to the topic on the agenda.
Also, the development processes in the world are rapidly entering our daily life, becoming a sharp weapon of ideological influence in the current conditions. And this serves the interests of various political forces in the West, aiming to spread the ideas of moral promiscuity and individualism under the guise of "mass culture" and "freedom and democracy" to the detriment of other nations, including the Uzbek people. They are disrespecting thousands of years of spiritual and cultural values and encouraging them to abandon them.
Such evil goals are carried out under the guise of "advancement of freedom and democracy". There is no doubt that such actions will have a negative impact on our values, such as prayer, modesty, and the sanctity of the family, which are sacred spiritual qualities of our people.
During the event, G. Gurbanov made a speech and expressed these thoughts - Honorable First President Islam Karimov, "Of course, it is necessary to spread the ideas of moral corruption and violence, individualism, egocentrism under the guise of "mass culture". Therefore, it is not without reason that people are worried about getting wealth at the expense of others, disregarding the thousands of years of traditions and values of other peoples, the spiritual foundations of their way of life, and dangerous threats aimed at subverting them.
Today's young people are living in a peculiar "war of concepts" at a time when they are at their peak. The so-called "Mass culture" that came from the West and has nothing to do with the real culture, this foreign condition is trying to accustom everyone to the same color, the same pattern, the same look, the same way of thinking, the same way of life, from our traditions, they are trying to turn away from our mentality, our ancestors are trying to make the things they called "black" "white" and the things they called "white" "black".
Sources of "popular culture":
Various virtual (computer) games, Uzbek films shot in some foreign and private studios, tum-tarakay, meaningless songs, some shows of foreign TV channels, the Internet and various social networks on it, Uyali hotlines, yellow press, urbanization process, extravagant celebrations and weddings and mass media spreading false information and information.
Today, there are more than 10 Internet sites that promote subcultures such as "emo", "goth", which are more popular among young people of European nationality living in our country.
So, how can a person develop his immunity against such a culture and what should he do for this? It is necessary to perfectly know and follow our ancient values and traditions that have passed the tests of thousands of years. If Mabodo finds himself in such a situation, he should at least ask himself questions like "Who is transmitting culture, for what purpose and for what reason?" and try to find a reasonable answer to it. . This is the only way to avoid being influenced by different ideas, dubious "cultures", and blindly following the presented information. The formed culture of information consumption plays the role of a special shield against messages, information and "culture" that are against our national interests and values, and serves to ensure the stability of a person's worldview and behavior.
After that, a documentary film about "popular culture" was shown. The experts of the field gave full answers to the questions asked by the students.
At the end of this meeting, the following conclusions were drawn:
- It should be decided that an educational event on the topic "Negative consequences of popular culture" will be held regularly at the Samarkand branch of the Tashkent State University of Economics.
- Information on the topic "Negative consequences of mass culture" should be regularly delivered to students and young people during branch coaching hours (Responsible: Dean, department heads and group tutors).
