An award ceremony dedicated to "Librarians' Day" was held at the Samarkand branch of Tashkent State University of Economics.

May 21 - librarians' day is celebrated every year in high spirits all over Uzbekistan. In this regard, this day was celebrated with special attention at the Samarkand branch of the Tashkent State University of Economics.
The branch director, professor O. Murtazayev, the head of the "Food and agricultural economy" department, Ozoda Pardayeva, and a number of professors and teachers of the branch congratulated the holders of these professions.
For information, it is worth mentioning that the first libraries appeared in the territory of Uzbekistan in the last centuries of the 1st millennium BC. These are the first libraries, kutub means "books" in Arabic, khana means "house" in Persian, that is, a place where books and documents are stored.
There was a famous library in Bukhara in the 10th century, and this library had a very rich fund, books were kept in chests by scientific fields. A reader entered it only with the emir's permission. Also, large libraries were established in Khorezm during the time of Khorezmshahs, Mamunis and Anushtageni.
