"Universiade" competitions in chess and checkers were held at the regional level.
According to the letter No. 18 of January 23, 2023 of the organizing committee for holding Universiade sports competitions, the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated July 25, 2022 "Universiade between higher education institutions" -2022" in order to attract students to public sports in connection with the implementation of the tasks specified in the letter No. 167 on preparing for the Republican final stage of sports competitions, in the sports of chess and checkers of Samarkand region of higher education regional level competitions were held between the institutions. On January 27-28, 2023, regional level competitions were held between the higher educational institutions of Samarkand region in the sports of chess and checkers.

In this competition, a chess competition was held among boys in the chess competition between the students of the branch, R.Aktamov, a student of the Food Economy, ORI-220 group, and Bank Business, a student of the BI- 220 M.Khamidova, and A.Iriskulov, a student of the Accounting and Auditing study group BX-120, and R.Kenjaboyeva, a student of the Banking study study group BI-121, took part in the checkers competition. Branch students took an active part in the competition, and Aizbek Iriskulov, a student of the BX-120 group of Accounting and Auditing, won the 3rd place in the checkers competition.
The winners and prize-winners were awarded diplomas and souvenirs by Samarkand State University.
